To Note: We also offer a multitude of different camps during summer break!
You enjoy being on stage, dancing and singing as well as improving your English skills?
The Musical Theater Camp at Pentecost 2022 is all about the theme "Scary Comedy":
The motto this time is "Horror Musical - or: What Does a Vampire Do When He Has a Tooth Ache?". It allows all children between the ages of 9 and 15 to try their hand at theater with a focus on musicals, and fosters a positive and playful approach to learning English.
Our Camp gives children a chance to have a crack at dramatics with a special focus on musical theater. Not only is the camp a lot of fun, it provides a fun approach to learning English.
The group will be under the supervision of theater and dance educator Nena Keller, who lived in the U.S. for 20 years. During that time, she danced and taught in different cities like Denver, Washington D.C. and New York City. With her help, the kids will learn to perform different scenes from musicals, including the songs and dances. Nena will be assisted by her daughter Christiane Demack, a native speaker who is a certified English teacher (Florida University) with over 10 years of theater experience.
The kids and teenagers will have daily units on a variety of different topics, e.g. stage setting (especially lighting and sound), crafting the costumes and props and how to use body language (gesture and facial expressions). The plays are selected based on the participants’ age and adjusted if necessary. At the end of the camp the kids will perform the practiced play in a 30 minute long Broadway Show for friends and family.
The camp includes an 1 hour long, supervised lunch break. Please pack your child a lunch package for that.
I just want to inform you how great the Muscial Camp was. Thank you for that! At first, my son did not want to partake and rather spent his holiday at home. But he was hooked from the first day and wants to be a part of this camp again next time. (parent of a participant in 2020)
