American Studies Day 2014: Lectures in the web stream

Die Kulturwissenschaftlerin Tricia Rose sowie der Autor Luis J. Rodriguez hielten beim "American Studies Day" am 5. Juli 2014 hochkarätige Vorträge in Tübingen, die es komplett im Web-Stream zu sehen gibt.

Tricia Rose erklärte in ihrem Vortrag "Hope in Dystopian Times: How Black American Popular Culture Can Help Us Today", wie afroamerikanische Kultur in vielfältiger Weise die gegenwärtige US-Gesellschaft formt. Luis J. Rodriguez reflektiert in preisgekrönten Büchern und seiner Lesung vor allem seine frühere Mitgliedschaft in einer Gang in Los Angeles. Eine Fotogalerie auf der Facebook-Seite des d.a.i. vermittelt weitere Eindrücke von den Vorträgen und den zahlreichen Workshops, die beim "American Studies Day" stattfanden.
