About the Camp

You do not have to travel to the U.S. to fully immerse yourself in the English language!

Making trips to the amusement park or the swimming lake, being creative, cooking and stitting around a camp fire together - and all that in English! Our American Summer Camp provides teenagers with the opportunity to spend one week learning and speaking English in an unrestrained and fun fashion.

Our teachers are exclusively American native speakers who are assisted by both American and German volunteers.

In the morning, the participants will build small groups and discuss and explore specific topics in depth. We offer a creative alternative to the everday school lessons to ensure that the participants have fun improving their language skills. In the afternoon, the focus will be on fun, activities and adventure!

Our accommodation is the Landhaus Pfanzelt in the Oberallgäu which is the perfect place for night walks, scouting games and swim trips.

Thanks again for the excellent communication and organization. We would have contacted you ourselves to thank you for this surprising, wonderful week of summer break. He said this week in the Allgäu with the d.a.i. was the best week of his summer break. He likes to cook, so he particularily enjoyed that part. He enthusiastically showed us his pictures. Eigentlich wollten wir uns selbst schon gemeldet haben, um uns noch einmal zu bedanken für diese unerwartete, schöne Ferienwoche. Er fand die Woche im Allgäu mit dem dai seine schönste Ferienwoche. Da er gerne kocht, hat ihm bestimmt auch dieser Teil besonders gefallen. Er hat uns begeistert seine Fotos gezeigt. )

 

The summer camp was really cool, the supervisors were really nice and helpful, the trips (especially the hiking) was super and the other kids were really nice as well. The house was beautiful and well situated and I loved that everyone helped out with everything (e.g. cooking). I had a great time. (participant in 2019)

(Das Sommercamp war richtig cool die Betreuer waren super nett und sehr hilfsbereit, die Ausflüge (vor allem die Wanderung) fand ich super und die anderen Kinder waren auch sehr nett. Das Haus war wunderschön und toll gelegen und ich fand es schön dass alle mal bei allem mitgeholfen haben (z. B. Kochen). Ich hatte eine tolle Zeit.)

Price for d.a.i.-members: 585,- €

The participants will also need a bit of pocket money, e.g. for ice cream or post cards.
